Banstock Beginnings

In a partnership that began in the early 1970’s with Louise Sanders under the Bandog prefix, we operated a very successful kennel for more than ten years.  We were the only kennel to boast two multi-best in show Bullma
stiffs, Ch. Huck’s Last Hurrah of Bandog and Ch. Bandog’s Crawdaddy Gumbo, the top-winning Bullmastiff in the history of the breed with 37 all breed bests in show and 11 specialty wins.  Both “Freddie” and “Waldo” were owned and shown by Wayne and Jean Boyd, Rivergroves Kennels.

Upon the termination of the partnership, and the subsequent retirement of Louise Sanders, I established the Banstock line and am continuing the same thoughtful and selective breeding program, per
petuating the ethics, integrity and breeding philosophy I maintained when in the highly successful partnership as Bandog Bullmastiffs.

A successful partnership was recently formed with Michele McGovern of Highpoint Bullmastiffs, where we continually strive to breed quality Bullmastiffs that exemplify the Bullmastiff breed standard, Bullmastiffs with outstanding temperament and consistent health clearances.

Banstock is Proud of ...

In more than 40 years of selective line-breeding, we have produced more than 100 American and Canadian and international champions, Westminster winners, multiple group-winners and multiple best in show winners, totalling 49 best in show Bullmastiffs that I have bred, Ch. Banstock Captain Jack (1), Ch. Avonlea Storybook Goodfella (7), #1 Bullmastiff  1997, Ch. Huck’s Last Hurrah of Bandog (2), #1 Bullmastiff 1978, and Ch. Bandog’s Crawdaddy Gumbo (37), the top winning Bullmastiff in the history of the breed, #2 dog all breeds, and #1 Bullmastiff 1980-1986, Ch. Banstock N Highpoint's Zabo's Pride (1) and GCH Banstock N Highpoint Ours, Yours and Mine (1).

We have to our credit 23 top-producing dogs and bitches, over seventy-five specialty and supported entry wins and the numbers continue to rise.  BIS BISS Banstock Captain Jack ROM OFA, was #2 Bullmastiff in 2002, a multiple group winner, specialty and best in show winner, owned by Katie and Gary Zigmond.

In 2005 Michele McGovern (with co-owner Pat Jasinski) campaigned the highly successful dog BISS Ch. Banstock Bruno of the Northeast ROM OFA.  Bruno is a multiple best in specialty and multiple group winner and a is Top-Producing Sire in 2007, 2008 and 2014, with more than fifty U.S. champions sired by him (and many international champions),  and  he is only a few champions away from being top-producing sire of a
ll time. This partnership produced multiple national winners (Taylor and Dually) and Top 20 winner (Taylor) and many other successful champions!

This year, GCH Banstock N' Highpoint Ours, Yours and Mine garnered the coveted Best of Breed (making this my 8th national specialty BOB win!) and Best owner handled Bullmastiff at the 2015 American Bullmastiff Association National Specialty.  "Foster" was winners dog and an award of merit at last year's national, with his litter sister, GCH Highpoint N' Banstock Keep Calm and Carry On going winners bitch and best of opposite sex. Foster, with his Owner-Handled Best in Show, makes this win totalling 48 Best in Show Bullmastiffs. Foster's litterbrother in the Northwest, GCH Banstock N' Highpoint New Day Bruin at Kimo is currently #1 Bullmastiff all breed, with more than 15 group I's and 2 Reserve Bests in Show owned by Jane Treiber and Ed Thomason.

Ch. Banstock N Highpoint's Zabo's Pride is an FCI multiple group winner and Best in Show Bullmastiff owned by Diann and Joe Read!

GCH Banstock Gotta Feeling from Highpoint owned by Helene Nietsch and Marie and Rich Parisi was Select Dog and Best Brindle at the 2014 ABA National Specialty.  Sire of champions, multiple specialty winning and group placing, this brindle Bullmastiff was a Top 20 Bullmastiff for 2014!
